For too long we Mennonites have been in the shadow of the Amish. When a heathen sees a beardy man with a straw hat in a buggy, they'll proclaim "LOOK, A MENNONITE!" That follically endowed man is not Mennonite. Mennonite gentlemen are clean shaven and prefer a good'ol Cowboy hat.

So what does a Mennonite really look like?

To answer this question — and because we prefer to leave technology for the sinners — we've teamed up with a former Mennonite. (Using him is the closest to the firey internet we're willing to go). So how can you get involved?

Now that you are aware of the vast differences between the Amish and Mennonites, we want you to get creative and let us know that you're in the know. Print off this sign and take a picture of yourself holding it. Or perhaps you'd like to get creative and don a beard and straw hat while holding a sign pointing to yourself stating that you aren't a Mennonite. Just let us know, that you know that we know that you know Mennonites are not the Amish folk you assumed were Mennonite.
