Occasionally it happens right in front of you. Something really old gets framed up nicely beside something brand new.  The contrast is startling and almost always becomes a comment on mankind’s progress on planet Earth.  Pictures of old things beside new things celebrate the evolution and continuous improvement of our design, production and manufacturing technology.

Lenzr members, this is the third challenge sponsored by the mrp software company that brought A Manufacturing Process, and Warehouse Stockpiles to the boards.   Like those previous matches, this challenge hopes to find images suitable for decorating their automation, mechanization and robotics white papers.  The contest hopes to find images that show a relationship between old versus new gadgets and  gizmos. A continuous improvement process (CIP or CI) is an ongoing effort to improve goods and services, or processes. These efforts can seek incremental improvements over time, or a breakthrough improvement to benefit all at once. The contrast pictures we covet will evidence Man's evolution in many different sectors, from cars to computers to construction equipment, to name just a few. Indoor and outdoor, small medium and wide - there are no rules except must show a contrast.
 
The prize is $250 cash in exchange for the rights to use your photo (non exclusive for 3 years). It's a win / win scenario; the sponsor gets to use high quality images in future inititives, while the winning photographer can celebrate having landed a career making client - they'll have just licensed photos to a highly respectable mrp software company and will perhaps see them displayed on their website. *Non exclusive license for 3 yrs. The Old Beside New photo contest hopes to collect and display contrasting technology as manifest in manufactured things - photos of people, pets and buildings will not be deleted, but probably won't win prizes as Judges will be instructed to select a top ten photo more suitable to sponsor's needs. Sponsor picks the other three @$75 from throughout index.

Voting Ends 12:01am January 25th, 2011 and the Top Ten images advance to the Lenzr Judges.

Must be 13yrs to enter. Contest valid everywhere in Canada and the United States.
