CONTESTS
Fireplaces and Furnaces
Started on: June 30th, 2011 Ended on: August 30th, 2011
Big fires and residential houses don’t mix; it requires an engineering degree to bring them together. Lenzr hopes to celebrate the mechanics of home heating in a photo challenge showcasing indoor fire photography.
Oil furnaces and wood fireplaces are the best sources of warmth when it's freezing cold outside. The contest hopes to display pictures of people and animals relaxing beside the warmth of a fire inside the house. Or the soft glow of an oil burning furnace in a dark basement. A stone hearth? An iron drum stove and the setting it creates in a cozy cottage. Clothes drying on a rack beside the open stove door, or maybe the jets of flame in the bed of an oil furnace would all be great submissions.
This is indoor photography, and the subject should be lit by firelight inside the house or building
The dog days of summer are actually the best time to think about home heating discounts, and Zonelife furnace installer in Cambridge Ontario takes this time to remind customers to beat the rush and get ‘summer deals’
HOW IT WORKS - Upload your photo now, using the Enter Contest button to the left. This contest has a ten day Voting Period that begins August 15th and ends August 25th. During that time, other members and visitors to the site will be prompted to rate the pictures. The Top Ten photos advance to Lenzr Judges on August 25th. The winner is selected based on the eight judges' preferences. Judges' comments are often published in the Lenzr blog. The winner is announced in the Lenzr Blog on or before September 1st 2011. Good Luck! Contest open to all Canadians excluding Quebec -13 yrs or older.

By the way, the Community Contests now gives you and anyone the option to choose your own theme and run a contest based on that theme.

I respond by saying that its always a challenge for picking the theme - it should be of things that people take pictures of anyway. We have some GREAT CONTESTS coming up in Sept . Fingers crossed. You are going to see some very cool ideas come to life.
