Let’s look ahead and try and predict the hottest hair fashion trends of 2012. Sponsored by a forward thinking Winnipeg hair school, this match will surely make a large repository of pictures and predictions, and it will be fun to look back and see who was right.

Fashion photographers, show us your original pictures and what you think will be the most popular hair style of 2012. Use the text description to detail the hairdo and tell us why it will dominate the New Year. Will it be a return to the big and bouncy blow dried curls inspired by a 1970s fashion revival? Or perhaps even older styles like the messy Mod Bob or the Double French Twist will reappear? On the spring / summer 2012 runway of Diane von Furstenberg, models emerged with a back-combed crown that swirled back into two mirrored French twists. Our Judges will decide the winner based on the best hair style picture in the Top 10, and its pop culture fashion potential.

Lets pause and reflect on the sleek, cropped manes that stole hearts in 2011, especially the chic hairdos of Justin Bieber, 17, and Emma Watson, 21, that were crowned the most buzz-worthy and they certainly set the trend in young people. A vast majority of teens adopted these hair styles, not so much because of the stars, but because they were popular looks - but will these hair styles still be cool in 2012?
