Obsolete Office Equipment
Here in Canada, the way we do business is changing so rapidly, most small to medium sized firms have a large supply of useless equipment sitting on shelves or locked away in storerooms, too valuable to throw away, but not worth keeping on desks or using anymore. It can’t be helped. Game changing business gadgets seem to come along about once a month these days, and each innovation obsoletes the old standards.
Yet some devices stubbornly live on long past their recommended expiry date, and just by staying alive they can cripple the entire office. In some cases it’s pride, or budget, or the President’s personal preferences that keeps the thing on the counter, embarrassing the employees.
We want to see old school adding machines, dictaphones, time cards and punch clocks, typewriters and mimeographs, spirit duplicators and hectographs. Got an old teletype or stock ticker? Show off your office’s most out-of-date contraptions and use the 140 character description to tell us the model #, manufacturers name and the exact function of the antique.
