Medicinal Plants in Nature
This photo contest celebrates botanical photography and the Art of Wildcrafting which is the practice of collecting and admiring medicinal plants found in nature. Show us your rare and colourful tree moss, and all the edible flowers and potent herbs you have discovered and photographed growing wild in the great outdoors.
Medicinal plants contain healing properties. Much of today’s medicine was originally formulated from this vegetation. This web challenge hopes to archive a vast collection of wild plants and flowers that will become a repository of useful knowledge, and art. Be sure and tell us the name of the plant, and where you found it.
Photographers are asked to submit high quality images of such diverse species as catnip, chicory, coltsfoot, and comfrey. What about wild garlic, ginseng or goose grass? or maybe spearmint and St Johns Wort? Also coveted are wild strawberries, mushrooms, pine nuts, and pine gum. Images of dried herbs are also desirable.
Sponsored by Ontario’s premier Natural Medicine Clinic the member that uploads the highest rated photo will take home about $330 worth of Neal's Yard Remedies. There's more information about this sponsor on the Lenzr blog.
PRIZE - a gift basket of six different Neal's Yard Remedies, including Orange Flower Facial Wash, Rosewater Toner, Orange Flower Facial Oil, Yarrow & Comfrey Moisturizer, White Tea Eye Gel, Geranium & Orange Body Butter
Total Retail Value $330.00
Contest is open to all residents of Canada (excluding Quebec) and the photos can be harvested from all natural habitats, all over the world.
Contest ends at 12:01 am on the morning of Jan 1st 2010
