Silversurfer71 won two Lenzr photo contests June 1st 2011

Andrew Blyskosz is Lenzr member Silversurfer71

Silversurfer71 with Admin from LenzrAndrew is the big prize winner from the April-May 2011 photo contest series – this photographer took away two Sony Cybershot cameras!

Silversurfer71, Storm Weather for ToughroofTurns out he’s a video editor at Chorus Entertainment here in Toronto. He’s a witty guy, and a remarkably cool dude for someone who spends his life locked away in a sound proof box listening to cartoon characters and puppets talk to each other. That would drive me crazy. But fact is that Andrew is a very creative and imaginative photographer with serious skills, and lots of high quality friend power. He drives a hot car too, or actually its a cool car cause it’s a convertible, and when I met him in downtown Toronto on Tuesday 7th June 2011 it was perfect ‘top down’ weather.

Andrew is a natural networker. He knew what I looked like from reading this blog, but I didn’t know what he looked like.  So he found me at the rendezvous point and approached me with a smile and open arms like we were old friends. Friend power is required to get your pictures into the Top Ten of just about every featured Lenzr Photo Contest. Some people don’t like that fact, but there it is.

When there’s only five days left in the cycle, the voting ends and the Lenzr Judges deliberate over the best pictures in the Top Ten. That’s when art and skill and form really matters – with the introduction of the Judges, the best photos in the Top Ten now win the prizes.  Andrew won two contests!

Andrew tells me that he plans to give the second camera to his niece. And now that I’ve published that fact, he really can’t change his mind. He wouldn’t. He’s encouraging her pursuit of the arts and hopes the camera will stimulate her creativity.

The Shiny Metal Surfaces photo contest amassed 70 photos and 1323 votes

Silversurfer71′s picture  Cloud Gate – Millennium Park was a crowd favourite which proved most popular with the Judges too.

It gave Lenzr contest marketers a perfect opportunity to talk about inclement weather and the safety and security of having a TOUGHROOF, which is the finest quality, most durable, and most cost effective commercial flat roof system here in Ontario, and all across Canada, at this time.

The winner was Rise of the Thunderhead by Silversurfer71

All Weather Roofing asks for your View from the Roof

August 7th, 2010 admin No comments

Although almost nobody ever thinks to go there, the roof is the one place you can be certain you”ll be left alone for a while… that’s because nobody would ever think to look for you up there, and if you turn off your phone you just might experience an hour or two of near perfect solitude.

all weather roofing basic logo flat roof expert TougRoofThe view from the roof above your own home or business can be spectacular, or rather depressing depending on your own perspective, and photography skills… Depressing views can also be really interesting though, and if you can show a piece of the roof on which you’re perched it would make the excellence of your entry in this web challenge more assured.

Photographers, if you can manage it, please show us all some really dirty rooftops with broken shingles and grass in the eaves troughs. Show us the view from roofs that are forests and beautiful gardens and or roofs that need repair in the foreground of your image to set the tone for the landscape, or cityscape beyond.

In the crowded cities its becoming really fashionable to build gardens and green space on the tops of buildings. White roofs are cooler and they reflect sunlight back into the atmosphere. Lenzr admin hopes that some of these green and white images will appear in this diverse photo challenge. Also welcome are images of  sharply inclined snow covered rooftops in our nation’s most northern cities and towns, and these will will hopefully be contrasted by asphalt and tar covered flat roofs of the industrial parks beside Canada’s biggest cities.

The registered member that uploads the highest ranked will WIN AN IPAD! Voting begins September 20th 2010 – the highest ranked photograph automatically wins prize when the Contest Ends October 1st, 2010. Must be 13yrs old or older to enter, open to all Canadians, excluding Quebec.
