Lenzr Judges
Introducing the Lenzr Judges, in no particular order. I’ll start with Adrian Fiebig because I have a picture of him and I together (thats me on the left) taken from inside Lenzr in the summer of 2011.

His mission is to identify the opportunities inherent in everything he sees, bring progressive ideas, innovative technologies and talented people together to connect and engage, affect positive change and create a better, smarter and healthier world.

4. Mary Bratko is Wedding Girl
Mary Bratko is very busy wedding planner in Toronto who blogs as WeddingGirl.ca and she is a very influential blogger. Her monthly traffic is much larger than even Lenzr’s traffic, and her pictures and text are hungrily devoured by thousands of readers, all over the world everyday. Yes, Mary is almost a daily blogger, for rarely a day goes by that she doesnt update her blog with some fascinating tidbit. She tells me that she posts for her readers now, because that she knows her writings bring comfort to a lot of people who find happiness in weddings, wedding fashion, jewelry and marriage rituals, exotic traditions, decorations, menu ideas, beverage ideas, stags and … all that stuff. When you are young and in love – its the bomb. Mary Bratko was recently profiled on Canada Blog Friends and can be accessed through her Wedding Girl Dot Ca Facebook page. As a Lenzr Judge, Mary likes to see good design and rich colours, and straight forward shots that capture beautiful moments.
5. Bill Watson, aerial photography
Bill has enjoyed photography for over 40 years. His multiple interests in the art form led him to become a very versatile photographer that’s good at getting effects and really good at moving the camera… Currently, Bill likes to shoot landscapes, and wildlife he finds therein. He likes candid shots, but executes portraits and commercial product photos too. Bill has every reason to be confident and even proud of his abilities – he’s combined his two passions; 1) his love of aviation (he’s a licensed amateur pilot) and 2) photography have merged into a new artform, Remote Control Helicopter Aeriel Photography.
Bill and his wife Debbie (Mommakoala) both view photography as the ability to capture fleeting moments of life that can be enjoyed and treasured for decades to come. Bill Watson is the owner of very cool aerial photography business. This mad scientist’s high angle pictures have been featured in the Hamilton Spectator, Toronto Sun, Fallsview Hotel Niagara Falls, Snap Hamilton, and Daily Planet (… hey, isn’t that where Clark Kent works?).
Bill Watson is the prolific Lenzr member Ve3bnw and with much applause here in the office, he’s been appointed as Judge in the upcoming session . Years ago he won a Blackberry Bold smart phone in the Crowded Places photo contest. I’ve been on Bill’s side ever since he tagged along with his wife Debbie on her Locaboire wine tour prize package; Bill took great shots of The Wine Ladies at the local Prince Edward Co wineries we visited that day.
6. Debbie Watson is Mommakoala
Mommakoala is a veteran contester and winning Lenzr participant – she has a dedicated following and a good eye for pictures. She’s the token Lenzr member that’s been promoted to the nobility ‘from the ranks’, if you will.
Debbie is a health care worker in Hamilton and multiple Lenzr contest winner. She’s won three contests. Debbie won a Locaboire wine tour, 50 lbs of chocolate from Chocolicks, and $200 gift certificate from Kanetix. ( At one time she was tied with Slimmswitch for being the winningest member, but Silversurfer71 has since obliterated their record).
Debbie maintains the Canadian National Autism Foundation (CNAF) blog and that’s a good cause. She’s got a big heart.
Mommakoala’s maternal instincts are present in her picks. She voted for Silversurfer’s airborne counting picture winner and said she found herself ‘counting out the numbers’ and she gazed upon the picture. It was a powerful image and supporting text like that from Judges made it unforgettable in the blog post and thats what I appreciate most from the Judges, their insights into why and how they chose the picture they did to win,
Lenzr can count on Deb to ring alarm bells and cry foul if and when she spots any shenanigans in the index.

7. Carolyn Wilman the Contest Queen
Carolyn has been very supportive of Lenzr over the years. She has offered countless tidbits of free advice and consulted on the legalities of running photo contests across North America, including Quebec.
Carolyn is probably Canada’s foremost contest blogger with a massive Twitter following @ContestQueen . She writes From The Contest Queen which is a weekly round-up of great challenges and best prizes, sweepstakes conventions and profiles of good companies and other ‘sweepers’. Carolyn was cast in a reality TV show about online contesting in the summer of 2011 and she’s a regular on Canada AM and other news programs.
October 21st 2011 she visited our offices and a I snapped this shot outside in the Distillery District.
